- During the year 2016-17, the NCCF achieved sales turnover of Rs. 791.92 crores as compared to turnover of Rs. 778.67 crores achieved during the previous year, which is an increase of 1.70 % over the last year.
- Grocery:- . The sales of grocery items were of the order of Rs. 464.01 crores whereas last year’s sales were Rs. 420.78 crores; an increase of 10.27%
- Textile:- Business of the Federation also witnessed a remarkable increase from Rs. 75.83 crores during the last year to Rs. 83.57 crores during the period under consideration. In terms of percentage, it is an increase of 10.21 % which is again quite significant.
- Civil Construction:- Similarly, the Federation increased its civil construction business from Rs. 30.98 crores to Rs. 32.75 crores; an increase of 5.71 % over the last year performance.
- The volume of business in General Merchandise, Agri input and confiscated goods have suffered a setback during 2016-17.
- NCCF is also one of the agencies nominated by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Govt. of India under Price Stabilisation Scheme (PSF) for stabilise of the prices of essential commodities in the country particularly of pulses to protect the interest of consumers in the country.
- The State Government of West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh, Assam and Karnataka has nominated NCCF as one of the Agencies for procurement of Paddy and Wheat under decentralized Price Support Scheme.
- With the changing times, the dynamics of business rapidly undergoing change. Organized retailing is fast gaining ground and new marketing technique such as online marketing, e-marketing are also posting new challenges. In order to face the competition, the Federation has also made forays into new lines of business to sustain its revenues.
- The Federation has generated a gross income of Rs. 27.51 crores, which included gross profit of Rs. 17.73 crores & income of Rs. 9.78 crores from other sources during the year 2016-17. The Federation has, however, incurred a net profit of Rs. 7.70 crores before tax and Rs 3.16 cores after tax and previous year loss set off.
NCCF continued to project its image amongst the Member institutions, Consumer Cooperatives, Consumers, Central and State Govt. Department, Public Sector organizations, institutions and Business Associates by maintaining close liaison with them. The NCCF maintained cordial relations with International Cooperatives Alliance (ICA) and took active participation in its various meetings during the year.
We take the opportunity to offer our sincere thanks and gratitude to Shri. Ram Vilas Paswan Ji, Hon’ble Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution for his valued guidance and continued support.
Our thanks are also due to the Secretaries to the Govt. of India particularly Department of Consumer Affairs, Department of Food & Public Distribution, Department of Agriculture & Cooperation and Ministry of Commerce. We hope to get their guidance & support in the years to come.
We are also grateful to the other Central Government Departments, State Governments and State agencies for using the infrastructure of the Federation for procurement of various articles required by them from time to time.
Our sincere gratitude is also due to the Central Registrar, Cooperative Societies and Registrars of Cooperative Societies of all States and Union Territories for their guidance in the promotion and development of the consumer cooperatives.
We thank International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) for their continued support and guidance in various fields.
We express our sincere thanks to the Managements of all the Member State Consumer Cooperative Federations, Cooperative Marketing Federations, Wholesale/Central Stores, NCDC, NCUI, etc. for their active support, participation and contribution in the progress of the Federation.
